So, who am I and why am I writing a blog? I’m an international teacher, originally from the UK, with a Kenyan husband and two girls, currently living in Singapore. I’ve been teaching (in a variety of forms and countries) since 2000. This blog has 2 main purposes: firstly, as a resource of teaching ideas for anybody who might be interested, and secondly, as a kind of teaching journal for myself, to help remember things I’ve done and for me to see my growth as an educator.
I’ve worked with several different curricula, and am currently working in a PYP school. I love the PYP as it gives me a chance to use something I see as vital to the development of all children – creativity. I love to think outside the box when it comes to presenting and interpreting learning experiences for the children I have the privilege of working with. And, more importantly, I want to show THEM how to think outside the box. Helping their minds to hatch a multitude of ideas. Hence the title of this blog. Enjoy.
